It’s been a busy week as Manchester United’s first team returned to the grass at Carrington.

With plenty to do and sharpen up on ahead of the 2025/26 campaign, Ruben Amorim and his staff have wasted no time at all in the blazing Mancunian heat we’ve seen recently.

So much has happened and for those of you out of the loop, club news and announcements have come thick and fast, with preparations continuing.

We’ve picked six key takeaways for you to get up to speed on, as another frantic week approaches at Carrington…

NEW NUMBER FOR DALOTFollowing Victor Lindelof’s departure, Diogo Dalot has taken up the vacant no.2 jersey ahead of the new season.

The Portugal international was previously our ever-reliable no.20 but has since decided he fancied a new look.

Dalot has worn no.2 for his country on various occasions, including at major tournaments, with more information about his swap available here.

CUNHA’S SHIRT REVEALEDOn the topic of shirt number’s we also revealed that new signing Matheus Cunha will wear the no.10 at United.

The Brazilian international completed his move from Wolves in June and spoke to club reporter Sam Carney earlier this week.

You can watch his chat with club media here – as he begins to settle into life at Carrington.

NEW SIGNINGWe’ve also added a new member to the United family, with young forward Enzo Kana-Biyik joining from Le Havre.

Following the signing of his contract, the emerging talent has secured a loan switch to Swiss Super League side, Lausanne-Sport.

Everyone at United would like to welcome Enzo to the club and wish him the very best of luck for his loan.

MORE CHANGES FOR CHIDO AND FREDRICSONWe also declared the news that youngsters Chido Obi and Tyler Fredricson will wear new numbers for next season.

Central defender Fredricson is moving from no.55 to no.33, after making great strides last term.

After previously wearing no.56, Obi will now be no.32 for the campaign ahead, which begins with a friendly against Leeds United, in Stockholm, on Saturday 19 July.

A CHAT WITH TOM HEATONNews of Tom Heaton’s extended stay was met with great applause, and our experienced goalkeeper sat down with Harry Robinson this week.

The pair discussed a range of topics and the 39-year-old is absolutely ‘delighted’ to be staying.

TEN-YEAR PLAN FOR GREATER MANCHESTERAnd finally, the club welcomes news that a 10-year growth plan for the region was announced last week by Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham.

The vision, which was set out at an event in the city centre, detailed how Manchester is setting its sights on a new era of economic growth, on the way to becoming a second city to rival any other on the planet by 2050.

With Old Trafford included as the centrepiece, we urge you to read the statement here.
