Napoli’s latest transfer move could force Manchester United to reveal their true intentions regarding Torino goalkeeper Vanja Milinković-Savić.
Following a shaky season for the United goalkeeping department, many fans are eager for the club to reinforce the position.
Fortunately for them, the club has been consistently linked with top-tier goalkeepers such as Emiliano Martínez and Milinković-Savić.
Although no concrete move has materialised for any of these shot-stoppers, an intriguing transfer development in Italy involving Milinković-Savić could yet trigger INEOS into action.
Goalkeeper transfer hijack anticipated
According to Fabrizio Romano, Napoli are in negotiations with Torino over an €18 million [£15.2 million] deal for the Serbian custodian.
The European transfer expert claims the Italian champions made their approach today, anticipating competition from United and other clubs.

Torino already wary of United’s interest in Milinković-Savić
Back in early May, The Peoples Person relayed a report that Torino was concerned that the 20-time English champions were keen to re-sign the goalkeeper, finally offering him the Old Trafford breakthrough he had previously been denied.
It was claimed that Torino owner Urbano Cairo was preparing to hold talks with Milinković-Savić in an attempt to contain the situation.
United have yet to make a decisive push, but Napoli anticipates that could soon change.
An €18 million move for a goalkeeper perceived as an upgrade on André Onana and Altay Bayındır, whose costly errors hampered United last season, is undoubtedly tempting.
Will Napoli’s fear of United or another club hijacking their move for the Torino goalkeeper come to fruition?
That remains to be seen, but for United fans, the answer could emerge in the coming hours, if not days, should Milinković-Savić make a return to Manchester.
