Sensational £84m bid made for United star, player could be “forced” to reconsider his future at Old Trafford – report

Al-Hilal are pushing to sign Manchester United midfield maestro Bruno Fernandes this summer, as per reports.

The Old Trafford crowd bid goodbye to Christian Eriksen, Jonny Evans, and Victor Lindelof after the full-time whistle against Aston Villa. The trio are set to depart United upon the expiration of their contracts.

The Red Devils are heading into one of their most difficult transfer windows in recent memory, and a lot more stars would be following the trio out of the club.

In particular, Fernandes has attracted serious interest from a number of clubs. Recently, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming Paris Saint-Germain are keen on the Portuguese midfielder.

However, it is Al-Hilal who appear to be pushing the hardest for his signature.

According to Fichajes, the Saudi Pro League outfit have “already presented a significant offer” to United for their best player, having tabled a €100 million (£84m) bid to secure his services.

Ruben Amorim has insisted he sees the 30-year-old as a key part of his project and his captain has also underlined his desire to continue at the Theatre of Dreams, unless told otherwise by the club’s hierarchy.

Still, Saudis are determined to test United’s resolve with their staggering proposal.

The Spanish outlet add that to lure Fernandes to the Gulf Kingdom, Al-Hilal are prepared to hand him a €77m-a-year contract.

Apart from PSG, Bayern Munich are also following the Portugal international but the report suggests no European club would be able to compete with the Riyadh outfit’s offer.

It is believed that Al-Hilal’s proposal and their sporting project may “force” Fernandes to reconsider his future in Manchester.

A fee in the region of £84m for Fernandes could prove to be a huge difference maker in INEOS’ efforts to ease the club’s financial situation and fund a revamp. But it is going to be near impossible to find a midfielder as prolific and hardworking as the current United skipper.
