Scanlon seals deadline-day loan move

Monday 02 February 2026 18:59Manchester United forward James Scanlon has secured a first loan move of his career.The 19-year-old is joining League Two side Swindon Town for the remainder of the 2025/26 campaign. Ian Holloway’s side are challenging for promotion to League One and have a midweek game away to Harrogate Town next on their agenda.See one of James Scanlon’s three goals against Sporting recently.Scanlon was outstanding in a recent Premier League International Cup game against Sporting, scoring a superb hat-trick against the Lisbon side. He also found the net earlier in the competition, against Athletic Club, and in a National League Cup tie at Rochdale in October. After doing well for our Under-21s, the next step will be to experience senior league football with the Robins.However, the teenager has already accrued valuable experience at international level.
