Ruthless INEOS offer £34m United star around, one Euro giant taking keen interest in deal – report

Manchester United are keen to offload Antony as soon as possible.

On Tuesday, reports emerged suggesting United had no intention of playing into the hands of the Brazilian winger and Real Betis.

Betis’ ploy

United’s decision to loan Antony to Betis during the second half of last season proved to be a transfer masterstroke.

Across 26 matches, he registered 14 goal contributions, underpinned by high-quality performances for the Green and Whites.

While a return to the Estadio Benito Villamarin made sense, the La Liga outfit have failed to strike a permanent deal.

The Heliopolis-based Spanish club insist the £34 million fee is beyond their budget.

Instead, they have proposed a loan arrangement or a creative deal that would see them acquire a percentage of the player’s rights and offer United a sizeable resale clause.

INEOS are rejecting such options; they are demanding a permanent exit.

Betis understand United’s position but appear to be playing a long game: the longer Antony remains at Old Trafford, the more they hope to pressure United into settling for a deal on their terms late in the window.

Several clubs have made approaches, but Antony continues to reject them, resolute in his desire to return to Los Verdiblancos.

Frustrated by this stance, United have issued the winger an ultimatum: agree to join one of the interested suitors by the end of this week, or face being frozen out until January.

Antony offered to Turkish clubs

With Antony still weighing his options, United have widened the net, offering the ex-Ajax winger to several Turkish Super Lig clubs.

One side, in particular, appears to be keen.

According to Turkish journalist Yagız Sabuncuoglu:

“Antony was offered to Turkish clubs. Only Fenerbahce reviewed the player’s terms. Fenerbahce assessed the conditions, kept them in mind, and are waiting. If a loan opportunity arises, they may act.”

United: loan or permanent exit?

It remains to be seen whether United will soften their stance and entertain loan offers, especially with funds needed for the Carlos Baleba deal.

A loan move with an obligation to buy and the loan club covering the wages should prove a viable compromise.

With Fenerbahce lurking, it might be a deal INEOS end up accepting, considering as Betis continue to stall.
