Man Utd are continuing to monitor RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano. Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano said that the Red Devils have sent scouts to see the 19-year-old on “several” occasions over the past couple of months: “Manchester United have been following left-wingers for some time. When Ruben Amorim was the manager, they were in the mix for Antoine Semenyo, but Manchester City was his favoured destination.” “Don’t forget about a player I’ve been telling you about: Yan Diomande. He’s doing fantastic at Leipzig, and my understanding is that United, in January, sent their scouts several times to follow Diomande. He’s being monitored for sure, but let’s see if there’s going to be more.” Diomande won’t be available on the cheap Leipzig rate the Ivorian international very highly and reports in Germany suggest that the Bundesliga side won’t let him leave this summer unless a club matches their €100m (£87m) asking price. Some, including Ben Jacobs, have suggested that Diomande could be sold for a much lower fee, although many feel that Leipzig will only lower their demands if they miss out on the Champions League. Man Utd will face competition from other Premier League teams Liverpool are said to have made Diomande a top target for the summer transfer window, while Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham have been credited with an interest as well. Bayern Munich have also been mentioned as potential suitors, but after buying Luis Diaz last summer, they are not expected to enter the battle at the price currently being quoted.
