BACK David Tully Feb 23rd 2026 Man Utd forward Joshua Zirkzee will be the subject of interest from “several clubs” at the end of the season, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano. The Dutchman has only played 11 minutes of football (before the Everton fixture) since Michael Carrick’s appointment as interim manager, and Romano thinks the striker’s time at Old Trafford will come to an end this summer: “I think for Joshua Zirkzee, there will be movements in the summer, with several clubs showing interest in the player, who is being super professional.” “He’s showing his commitment to Man United until the very end of the season, even if he’s not playing much. Then, at the end of the season, it will probably be time to try play more, find more game time.” Where have things gone wrong for Zirkzee? The Netherlands international has never really found a place in the starting lineup. He struggled to settle initially after being signed by Erik ten Hag. During Ruben Amorim’s tenure, he had flashes of inspiration but he never got a run of games. Injuries have certainly played their part. Zirkzee was sidelined for Carrick’s first two matches in charge against Manchester City and Arsenal. He didn’t get off the bench versus Fulham, and he had brief cameos versus Tottenham and West Ham. You can buy a Zirkzee poster from Man Utd’s official store here. Who else could be leaving Man Utd this summer? Casemiro’s departure at the end of his contract has already been confirmed, while doubts linger over the future of Harry Maguire. An agreement over a new deal has yet to be reached. Tyrell Malacia, Manuel Ugarte and Andre Onana are also on the periphery, so all three are expected to be shipped out, along with Marcus Rashford. Want more news on Man Utd?
