Ruud van Nistelrooy’s Leicester City are reportedly keen on signing Manchester United youngster Harry Amass on loan this month.
Amass was a standout star for United during last summer’s pre-season schedule under former manager Erik ten Hag but he has been made to wait for his senior club debut.
Amass has been named on the bench five times so far this season but he has yet to get a taste of action.
Despite United’s woes at left-back all term, Amass has been unable to break into the team. A previous report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that Amass is at risk of being frozen out of the first-team setup by Ruben Amorim, who is keen on signing a left-sided full-back either in January or the summer.
If Amorim secures the services of a left-wing-back who he deems ideal for his 3-4-3 system, Amass’ first-team prospects may become even slimmer.
Yesterday, Rich Fay of Manchester World revealed that United are aiming to send Amass and Dan Gore out on loan in an effort to aid their development.
It was indicated that the two youngsters are poised to head to the EFL but it has now emerged that Amass could secure a loan move to the Premier League.
According to MUFC Academy on X, Leicester are eyeing Amass.
“Leicester City are interested in signing Harry Amass on loan from Manchester United this January winter window. However, an offer hasn’t been put on the table yet, amid interest from Championship and League One clubs as well.”
“Before Amorim’s arrival, Harry Amass was in line for his debut with Erik Ten Hag promising him he’ll be given his chances but his chances have dropped since the departure of Erik.”
“To add to that, a new left wing-back is a priority in 2025, while the addition of Diego Leon provides direct competition at the club. It will be interesting to see what is done after Harry Amass loan, especially in the summer.”

Ex-United coach and interim manager Van Nistelrooy – who is currently Leicester boss – recently confirmed he will use his Old Trafford connections to held the Foxes land their targets during the ongoing winter transfer window.
Van Nistelrooy remarked, “Of course I am looking at my network, having played in a couple of countries. It’s important to use my network to strengthen the squad and help the team reach its target.”
“These conversations are important. The December month gave a clear view for me where the team needs help. You can also look at injuries and how long they are out for. But we’ll keep that behind closed doors.”
