BACK David Tully Nov 19th 2025 Real Madrid forward Vinicius Jr has held discussions with Man Utd representatives about a move to Old Trafford, according to reports in Spain. The Brazilian international is said to be unhappy about his situation at the La Liga giants and he is unwilling to put pen to paper on a new contract. With Vinicius’s current deal set to expire at the end of next season, Don Balon report that he has had talks about a free transfer to United. However, it seems that the winger is being very unreasonable with his demands, which may suggest he isn’t serious about making the switch to Manchester. The 3 requests that Vinicius has made Don Balon claim that the 25-year-old wants to be the highest-paid player in the Premier League. Manchester City striker Erling Haaland is currently on the biggest salary, taking home £525,000 a week, so the Red Devils would have to pay the Real Madrid star more than that figure. In addition to his wage demands, Vinicius has requested a “premium” signing-on fee, which is justified by the fact that there will be no transfer fee to pay if he decides to leave Spain at the end of his contract. The third and final demand is the most absurd – he is said to be demanding the exclusive use of a private jet. Man Utd’s cost-cutting means this deal is a non-starter While the Red Devils may have been more amenable to such outlandish requests under previous owners, you can’t see INEOS and Sir Jim Ratcliffe sanctioning such an offer for Vinicius. As well as slashing costs throughout the club, they are also looking to cut the wage bill, so making a player (no matter his reputation) the most highly paid in English football is very unlikely to happen.
