Report – Man Utd prepare record offer to sign £347,000 a week player

Vinicius Casemiro and Militao - Real Madrid

Manchester United have already lured two attacking playmakers to improve the squad and the latest reports indicate that they are looking to break their transfer record to further improve the department.

Back in 2016, the Old Trafford outfit broke the bank and splashed £89million to hire the services of Paul Pogba from Juventus (BBC).

News – Manchester United ready to bid £70million to sign £74million star – Reports

Now, according to Spanish source, Fichajes, Man Utd are preparing an offer worth 200 million euros (£174million) to sign Vinicius Jr. from Real Madrid.

The Brazilian international is currently in a contract stand-off with the Los Blancos and the Red Devils want to take advantage of the impasse.

The Samba star currently takes home around £347,000 a week (TEAMtalk) and wants to earn as high as French superstar, Kylian Mbappe.

Do Man Utd have a serious chance of signing Vinicius Jr.?

The 25-year-old South American is one of the best players in the world and has already won every major prize with the Bernabeu outfit.

Last year, he came extremely close to winning the Ballond’Or but eventually lost to Man City’s Rodri by just over fifty points.

After losing out on the prestigious award, Vini said that he will earn 10x harder to win the trophy. For that to happen, he needs to play in one of the biggest clubs in the world who take part in the biggest of competitions.

Man Utd might be one of the biggest clubs in the world but they will not take part in UEFA Champions League next term, i.e. Europe’s elite tournament, so, it is unlikely that Vinicius will even consider moving to Old Trafford.

On the other hand, United have had financial concerns after back to back average campaigns even after spending alot.

They have already splashed heavy cash to lure Cunha and Mbeumo. Can they really afford to spend £174m on Vini?
