Man Utd are monitoring the situation of Real Madrid pair Aurelien Tchouameni and Eduardo Camavinga, according to reports. Writing for Flashscore, journalist Dean Jones named the two midfielders as potential targets for the Red Devils as they look to reinforce their options in the middle of the park. With Casemiro leaving on a free transfer, United are looking to replace the Brazilian, and they could look to his former club for his successor. In fact, Director of Football Jason Wilcox and Head of Recruitment Christipher Vivell are looking to add two midfielders to the squad, although signing both Tchouameni and Camavinga would depend on several factors. Are Real Madrid prepared to sell? Camavinga and Tchouameni were signed by the La Liga giants within the space of twelve months. Camavinga was the first to arrive from Rennes in August 2021 for a fee of around €40m (£34m). United were one of the teams that missed out on the player at the time. Tchouameni then moved from Monaco in July 2022 in a deal worth up to €100m (£85m). The two players have featured regularly over the past few seasons, although Camavinga has had fewer minutes than Tchouameni this campaign. The latter has started 23 of Real’s 27 league matches. However, their positions in the first team squad could soon come under threat. Real are said to be looking at revamping their midfield, with Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez and Manchester City’s Rodri reportedly among their targets. It could lead to Camavinga and/or Tchouameni leaving this summer. Deals would depend on Man Utd’s transfer budget Even if Camavinga or Tchouameni are put on the market, they won’t be available on the cheap. Champions League qualification would be required for the Red Devils to finance deals for either midfielder. Of course, there would be plenty of competition to sign the midfield duo too, but it looks like United are ready to make an approach for them under the right circumstances. Want more news on Man Utd?
