Manchester United remain interested in signing Carlos Baleba from Brighton in 2026.

They were keen on securing his signature during the summer transfer window, but the Seagulls were not prepared to sanction his departure. According to Football Insider, Manchester United are keeping tabs on the player, and Baleba remains on their radar for the future.

They are likely to make a move for him at the end of the season instead of the January transfer window. It remains to be seen whether they can get the deal done.

Man United set to return for Carlos Baleba

Pete O’Rourke claims: “Carlos Baleba is a top player. Man United inquired about him in the summer, and Brighton’s price tag of around £100million scared United off.

“United still firmly have him on the radar probably for next summer rather than the January window.”

The 21-year-old has all the tools to develop into a complete central midfielder. Baleba could help Manchester United improve immensely. Baleba could prove to be an upgrade on most of their current midfield options. However, he will be an expensive acquisition, and he could cost in excess of £100 million.

It will be interesting to see if Manchester United are prepared to break the Bank for him. They will need to convince the player to join the club as well. He will want to compete at the highest level and fight for trophies. Manchester United must look to secure European football so that they can convince elite talents.

The Premier League midfielder will not want to join a club in the bottom half of the league table. Manchester United have been quite disappointing so far, and they will need to bounce back strongly. It remains to be seen whether they can get their season back on track.

Signing the 21-year-old would be a huge coup for the club. He could develop into one of the best players in the league with the right guidance. Manchester United could nurture him into a future star.
