Manchester United are reportedly considering Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma during the summer transfer window.

It will be interesting to see if they decide to make a move for the Italian international this summer. According to CaughtOffside, he is a key target for the Premier League giants, who are seeking a replacement for André Onana.

Man United ready to sell Andre Onana

They are prepared to sell the Cameroon goalkeeper for a fee of around £20 million and are interested in the Champions League winner as his replacement. It would be a huge upgrade if Manchester United could get the deal done. The 26-year-old is a world-class player who helped PSG win the league and Champions League last season. Donnarumma has been hailed as a “titan” by Luis Enrique.

The French outfit are hoping to keep Donnarumma and have offered him a new deal. However, the player is reportedly unsatisfied with the offer on the table. It will be interesting to see if Manchester United can offer him a lucrative contract and convince him to join. Donnarumma currently earns €245k-a-week.

This could be an ideal opportunity for him to try a new challenge at this stage of his career. Manchester United are rebuilding and have brought in talented players this summer. There is no reason they cannot bounce back strongly next season and fight for trophies. Donnarumma could be attracted to the prospect of joining United if they can convince him of their ambitions.

The 26-year-old goalkeeper is at the peak of his career and could transform Manchester United. They have lacked an elite goalkeeper since the departure of David de Gea, and Donnarumma could fill that void.

Apart from his quality as a goalkeeper, his leadership skills and winning experience could prove vital as well. It remains to be seen if Manchester United will come forward with an offer to sign him.
