Manchester United have had a very promising transfer window with new signings settling in quite well.
The club has brought in the likes of Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko and the former two already impressed with their display against Arsenal.
News – Amorim tipped to secure signing of £300,000 a week star for Manchester United
Ruben Amorim would have taken a lot of encouragement from the way his side played against Arsenal. It was a refreshing change from the style of football Man Utd have played in the past couple of years and fans will be wanting to see more of the same.
Off the pitch, it does look like Man Utd are not done with their transfer business yet. For example, the game against the Gunners showcased a deficiency in midfield when Casemiro was substituted and Manuel Ugarte replaced him and the club could sign a new midfielder.
Now, as per TalkSport, Man Utd are lining up a raid to sign talented English midfielder Adam Wharton from Crystal Palace.
One of Oliver Glasner’s most important players, the deep-lying playmaker has already showcased his quality for the Eagles.
Wharton has been on the Red Devils’ radar for quite some time now. The 21-year-old is widely considered as one of the biggest young English talents going around. He is said to be valued at around £70million by the London club.
There aren’t many defensive midfielders in the Premier League who can pick a pass out better than Wharton.
His quality on the ball helps him conduct play at a certain tempo but he is also no slouch defensively, capable of breaking up play and holding fort against the opposition.
In many ways, Wharton would be a ceiling-raiser for Man Utd. Casemiro had a very good game against the Gunners and definitely adds some unique qualities to the team.
He can do what the Brazilian does but can be even better on the ball and this bodes well for Amorim.
To bring Wharton in though, Man Utd might be forced to sell Manuel Ugarte. The Uruguayan has been a very poor signing from the Red Devils and doesn’t seem to have the quality to play for a club with such a calibre. Wharton would be an excellent addition and let’s wait and see how it goes.
