Reigning league champions make shock loan offer for United talent Amorim loves – report

Ethan Williams’ Manchester United loan exit could finally be happening as surprise suitors make a move to sign him before deadline day.

United keen to loan out Williams

A report covered by The Peoples Person last month relayed that Williams was set to miss the club’s US pre-season tour ahead of a planned loan move.

So far this summer, United have sanctioned temporary exits for some of their most talented starlets including Sonny Aljofree, Radek Vitek, Toby Collyer and Elyh Harrison. The Red Devils are eager for these youngsters to gain significant first-team experience.

However, in a surprise U-turn, Amorim named Williams in his travelling party to the United States. It was stated that Amorim had taken a shine to the forward, who impressed in training.

Williams repaid Amorim’s faith in kind as he netted United’s fourth goal in a dominant victory over Bournemouth in Chicago.

Mere moments after coming on from the bench, Williams picked up the ball after new signing Diego Leon tripped over. The Carrington academy graduate proceeded to cut inside and fire a powerful shot into Djordje Petrovic’s near post.

The goal was Williams’ first one for United at senior level. Transfer talks surrounding Williams had seemingly gone quiet, but a major development in his situation has now emerged.

Williams subject of a loan offer

According to the reliable Ben Jacobs, United have received a loan offer for Williams.

Jacobs wrote on X, “Understand Europa League hopefuls HNK Rijeka have made a loan offer for Manchester United winger Ethan Williams.”

Rijeka are the reigning SuperSport HNL champions as they marginally pipped Dinamo Zagreb to the title.

They currently sit in sixth place in the table after four games played. They’ve won one, drawn one and lost on two occasions.

It remains to be seen whether United view Rijeka as the right move for Williams at this stage of his career.
