“Recovering fast”: United wonderkid provides hugely encouraging injury update, will be music to Amorim’s ears

Manchester United enjoyed a near-perfect night at the King Power Stadium on Sunday as they ran out 3-0 winners against Leicester City.

It was Ruben Amorim’s biggest away win since taking over as boss and ahead of an all-important April, big-name players are starting to hit form.

However, Ayden Heaven, who looked imperious on his first Premier League start for the Red Devils, suffered a second-half injury which sullied matters for the visitors.

He was spotted writhing in pain after what looked like an ankle injury and had to be stretchered off. Due to the lack of options at his disposal, the head coach was forced to bring on midfielder Toby Collyer and Harry Amass for his club debut.

Heaven injury

He was playing as the left-sided centre-back with both Leny Yoro and Lisandro Martinez out injured. The Portuguese tactician will again have to put his thinking cap on to find the perfect alternative.

There is still no clarity as to when the ex-Arsenal starlet will be back with Amorim claiming the 18-year-old could not exactly pinpoint his injury issue.

“We’ll see next week. It’s hard to understand because even when he’s on the ground he cannot speak. He doesn’t know how to understand what he’s feeling because he’s so young.”

Social media message

Now the player himself has broken his silence on social media and offered an encouraging update on his return to first-team action.

“Thank you guys for all your support! I have read all your messages, and I’m doing really well and recovering fast,” he wrote.

The official United account on X showed support for the injured star by writing, “We’re all with you, Ayden,” alongside the flexed bicep and heart emojis.

The 20-time English league champions are not in action before April 1 and Amorim will hope quite a few of his injured stars can be back before then.

While it looked like a season-ending injury, that does not seem to be the case currently with the player even seen exiting the Foxes home ground unaided. Whether Heaven can return soon remains to be seen.
