Who starts for Manchester United against Liverpool?

That debate will rage on until Ruben Amorim’s line-up is announced at 15:15 GMT on Sunday, ahead of the 16:30 kick-off at Anfield.

As the countdown to the game continues, former Reds Wes Brown and Phil Bardsley have been playing our United Predictions game, where fans can select the starting XI, first goalscorer, scoreline and Man of the Match.

Both Brown and Bardsley are predicting the United head coach to make changes to the side that was defeated 2-0 by Newcastle last time out, but the latter is tipping the Portuguese to alter his shape somewhat for the trip to Merseyside…

PHIL BARDSLEY’S PREDICTIONS

Bardsley believes Amorim will pack the midfield at Liverpool, with Academy graduates Kobbie Mainoo and Toby Collyer flanking Manuel Ugarte in a diligent, energetic trio.

Bruno Fernandes, who returns from suspension to face our Merseyside rivals – as well as Ugarte – is being tipped by Bardsley to be part of a front two alongside Rasmus Hojlund.

While Brown predicts that our head coach will remain with his usual formation, which includes Amad and Fernandes behind Hojlund, he is tipping a different player to start at right wing-back at Anfield…

WES BROWN’S PREDICTIONS

Brown sees Antony starting on the right flank, with Leny Yoro replacing Lisandro Martinez in the left centre-back role.

Ugarte also returns to his midfield, alongside Mainoo, while the former United defender is also tipping Alejandro Garnacho to play at left wing-back.
