A section of Manchester United supporters delivered a stern message to co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, following the sacking of Ruben Amorim. Amorim fired On Monday, United confirmed that they had parted ways with Amorim after 14 months in charge. In an official statement, United announced that they had made the decision to give the team the best possible chance of attaining a high Premier League finish. It subsequently came out that Amorim’s relationship with certain members of the hierarchy was fractured, more specifically director of football Jason Wilcox. It’s understood that the pair fell out over Amorim’s perceived tactical inflexibility and what the Portuguese viewed as broken transfer promises early in the January window. Darren Fletcher was in the dugout for United’s 2-2 draw with Burnley at Turf Moor on Wednesday. Benjamin Sesko scored both goals in what was United’s third consecutive draw. Fletcher confirmed that he will also lead the team out for Sunday’s FA Cup tie with Brighton at Old Trafford. United are then likely to have a caretaker boss in place for the following games. Club legends Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Michael Carrick are thought to be the frontrunners for the role. During the clash with Burnley, some fans took the opportunity to let Ratcliffe and the leadership group know exactly how they felt. United fans send message to Ratcliffe Ratcliffe’s tenure at United has been marked by turbulence from the outset. His initial drive to slash costs drew fierce backlash after resulting in widespread layoffs across the club’s staff. He also hiked ticket prices in a bid to generate more cash for the club. The Amorim sacking is just the latest setback in a growing list of mishaps that have taken place under the INEOS chairman’s watch. The travelling fans at Burnley unveiled a banner which read, “JIM CAN’T FIX THIS.” This banner was spotted at the away end moments before kick-off. Wilcox and chief executive Omar Berrada were both present at Turf Moor.
