Manchester United youngster Amir Ibragimov has signed his first professional contract with the club.

Ibragimov started his career in Sheffield United’s academy before he joined United in 2017. He has come through the ranks and is currently a key player in the U18s set-up.

Often likened to United’s record goalscorer Wayne Rooney, Ibragimov is highly rated at Carrington and it seems to only be a matter of time until he makes his senior debut for the side.

The 17-year-old is a versatile attacker, with the capability to play as an attacking midfielder, winger, second striker or even striker.

He boasts exceptional pace, technical ability and work rate.

Although born in Dagestan, Russia, Amir plays at international youth level for England.

Earlier today, it was confirmed that Ibragimov has put pen to paper on his first professional contract with United.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that Manchester United internally regard the teenager as one of their future stars.

The forward took to Instagram and wrote, “Happy to sign my first professional contract. Nothing changes, the hard work goes on. #alhamdulillah”

United’s decision to secure Ibragimov’s future is a strong statement of intent from Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS, emphasising their commitment to youth development and providing opportunities for young talents to shine.

Since Ratcliffe finalised his minority takeover last year, United’s transfer strategy has shifted from signing established stars to focusing on young, promising, and hungry players with the potential to develop into world-class talents.

This approach also includes promoting academy youngsters.

Ruben Amorim and his players are back in action on Sunday when they host cross-town rivals Manchester City at Old Trafford.
