After the glorious win at Anfield, Manchester United’s focus will now shift to Saturday’s Premier League clash against Brighton and Hove Albion at Old Trafford.
The Seagulls have been something of a bogey side for the Red Devils, with United losing six out of their last seven fixtures.
Ruben Amorim will now be hoping to notch three wins on the bounce, and preparations are well underway at Carrington.
And in a surprise move, the head coach called up academy wonderkid JJ Gabriel to first-team training for the first time.
JJ Gabriel involved in senior training
This update came courtesy the Englishman’s Instagram account, where he posted a picture of himself in his training gear following training.
Interestingly, BBC Sport‘s Simon Stone even revealed that the teenager was part of a 11 vs 11 training match at Carrington.
“JJ Gabriel took part in an 11 v 11 training match today with @ManUtd first-team squad.

“Has been the plan to bring the 15-year-old into senior sessions as part of his development. His progression has been rapid over the past few months.”
Only 15, the attacker has already received rave reviews from all quarters, and has even been touted as one of the best talents to emerge from Carrington ever.
He has been in red-hot form
In only seven games for the United U18s this campaign, the England U15 international already has eight goals and one assist.

Amorim has been clearly impressed, and even saw his videos during pre-season. As relayed by The Peoples Person, he even met the player personally.
During that meeting, he had assured JJ Gabriel that he will be called up to senior training this term, and the ex-Sporting CP boss has kept his word.
Now for the youngster to grab his chance and keep impressing. Who knows, a sensational senior debut could be just around the corner.
