“One to watch in closing days”: Deadline day exit for United superstar not ruled out as gigantic offer remains on the table – report

Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim decided to hand Toby Collyer his first European start on Thursday against Rangers despite Casemiro’s presence in the matchday squad.

The 21-year-old did quite well against the Scottish giants and is likely to get more chances down the line, which does not bode well for the Brazilian.

The former Real Madrid superstar’s last start under the Portuguese tactician came almost four weeks ago and in most of his appearances under Amorim, he has failed to provide the intensity that the new coach demands from all his players.

The five-time Champions League winner has started only four games under the ex-Sporting Lisbon boss but is yet to complete 90 minutes.

Casemiro’s prospects do not look good under Amorim

There were talks of the 32-year-old jumping ship and moving to Saudi Arabia to reunite with former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo at Al-Nassr.

However, his contract demands seemed to have scuppered a potential exit with recent reports even going as far as to say that the Saudi Pro League side are no longer interested in the Brazil international.

Which is why Casemiro has also shifted his focus to America with the defensive midfielder attracting plenty of interest from Major League Soccer clubs as relayed by The Peoples Person.

🚨 The Saudi central offer for Casemiro was tabled some weeks ago, however, nothing was agreed or signed, despite the Saudi’s pushing.

However, social media account Sam C who has proven to be a reliable source of inside information from United has claimed that the offer from the Middle East still stands and a deadline day exit remains a possibility.

“The Saudi central offer for Casemiro was tabled some weeks ago, however, nothing was agreed or signed, despite the Saudi’s pushing.

Saudi offer remains on the table

“Understand that Al-Nassr would prefer to get a playmaker midfielder in, rather than a defensive-minded one (like Casemiro) despite Cristiano Ronaldo pushing. One to watch in closing days,” he wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

There was speculation that the Brazilian ace had been offered a £650,000-per-week contract by Al-Nassr. Whether there is any truth to that, only time will tell.

INEOS are desperate to move him on due to his humongous wages of £350,000 gross per week (via capology), which makes him the club’s highest earner.

It makes no sense to keep hold of a bit-part player who earns so much. But whether an exit materialises in the coming days remains to be seen.

United splashed £60 million for his services a couple of years ago and it is safe to say that they will only recoup a fraction of that amount upon his departure. A timely warning not to green light such deals in the future.
