“One to watch”: 16yo United striker with 40+ goals “generating plenty of excitement” ahead of next season – report

Carrington has kept producing gems year after year, and once again, the Manchester United first team saw numerous youngsters make their senior bow this season.

Toby Collyer got the nod under Erik ten Hag, while Ruben Amorim has handed Chido Obi, Harry Amass, and Tyler Fredricson their first-team debuts. And with United’s focus firmly on the Europa League final, more could be on the way.

The likes of Sekou Kone, Jack Moorhouse are champing at the bit with the Portuguese tactician also set to take quite a few of the academy’s promising starlets with him on the post-season tour of Asia as well as for pre-season.

This shows the commitment to youth United have and next season is expected to be similar. A number of promising starlets will once again be hoping to catch the head coach’s eye.

Bradbury on fire

The first team is clearly lacking in a ruthless goalscorer, which has enabled Chido Obi to get his chance this season despite being only 17. At United, age is simply a number and Louie Bradbury could be the one to benefit come next term.

The 16-year-old has been on fire this season, netting over 40 goals across all age-group levels at the club, including a maiden goal for the U18s, that too on his first start for Adam Lawrence’s side.

There were other landmarks for Bradbury this season as cited by The Daily Mail including his Under 21s debut, as well as his FA Youth Cup debut.

He was also top scorer for the United U19s with 10 goals at the Rewe Junior Cup, while also winning eight caps for Wales’ U17 side. Incidentally, he also scored his first international hat-trick in 2024, against Gibraltar in a 5-0 spanking.

Excitement regarding his future

And as revealed by The Mail, coaches at Carrington are excited with Bradbury’s potential and have termed him “one to watch” out for in the coming season.

“Young academy striker Louie Bradbury is one to watch heading into next season. The Under 16s forward finished the season with 41 goals and has a number of landmarks to look back on.

“Wasserman client Bradbury, who has already been snapped up by brands including Skechers, is generating plenty of excitement at Carrington and in FA of Wales (FAW) circles as he looks to establish himself in the Under 18s and Under 21s next season.”

United are likely to address their lack of goals in the summer by going after a competent striker but if Bradbury can keep his form up, at least a call-up to senior training cannot be ruled out.
