Manchester United have significantly strengthened up top this summer, signing three big-name stars after a dismal campaign last time out.
Both Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo are expected to add creativity up top, while they can double up as a No.9 if needed. They are Premier League-proven, which is a huge asset.
Benjamin Sesko has been brought in from RB Leipzig after years of scouting him. The Slovenian is a powerhouse in the air, and will add a new dimension to the attack, something Rasmus Hojlund failed to do.
The Dane is expected to depart, with AC Milan circling. But he might not be the only Danish striker to depart the club.
Chido Obi to leave?
As per Soccernet.ng, United wonderkid Chido Obi is attracting interest from INEOS-owned OGC Nice, who want him on a season-long loan.
“INEOS-owned Ligue 1 club OGC Nice are in talks to sign Chidozie “Chido” Obi-Martin for a move from Manchester United this summer, Soccernet.ng reports.
“The 17-year-old joined Manchester United from Arsenal last summer and could be on his way out of Old Trafford on a season-long loan.”
The Denmark U21 international jumped ship from Arsenal to join the Red Devils last summer, and that move paid off handsomely as he made eight appearances for the Old Trafford side.
While he had no senior goals to show for his efforts, he has impressed with his overall play, with club legends praising his impact when coming off the bench.
INEOS have loan plans
The wonderkid was on fire for the academy sides, netting 14 goals in all competitions, including 12 for the U18s and two for the U21s.
Should Hojlund also depart, the 20-time English league champions might be short on options up top were Chido Obi to depart as well.
This could indicate Amorim’s desire to play Joshua Zirkzee up top as Sesko’s backup or possibly go after Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who is currently a free agent.
A loan where the 17-year-old earns regular minutes in a competitive environment could be a huge blessing for both the ex-Arsenal ace and United. He will likely return as a man and ready to make an impact.
