Former Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is now officially the new head coach of Besiktas.
The move would mark Solskjaer’s first return to management since leaving United in November 2021.

The 51-year-old Norwegian, best known for his tenure at Old Trafford, led United to consecutive top-four finishes during his two full seasons.
In 2021, he guided the team to the Europa League final, where they suffered a heartbreaking penalty shootout loss to Villarreal.
Besiktas, currently sixth in the Turkish Super Lig, have been without a permanent head coach since parting ways with Giovanni van Bronckhorst in November.
The club is eyeing Solskjaer as the ideal candidate to stabilise their campaign.
In a September 2023 interview with The Athletic, Solskjaer expressed his desire to return to the dugout. He revealed that he had received offers, including approaches from Saudi Arabian clubs. However, he emphasised the importance of finding the right project.
His ability to manage big-game situations and nurture talent could be pivotal as the club looks to climb the league table and make an impact in European competition.
Although he might not be the best tactical coach, his calm demeanour can certainly work with certain players, as it did at United.
Stylistically, one could expect to see a counter-attacking system reliant on quick transitions.
This will be a great opportunity for Solskjaer to reignite his managerial career at the European stage.
