Official: Former United coach bounces back after brutal sack, confirms new role

Former Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has found a new role in football. The former Manchester United manager was sacked after three games, after failing to win the trust of the players or the board in a disastrous spell. After losing his job, the manager turned down an offer from Ajax to return to his former club. FC Twente role Ten Hag has now officially agreed to a return to football, but this time not as a manager. FC Twente’s official website confirms, “Erik ten Hag (55) will join FC Twente on February 1st. He signs a contract until mid-2028. Starting in the 2026-2027 season, Ten Hag will succeed current technical director Jan Streuer, who recently announced his retirement after this season.” The site continues to explain, “Ten Hag will already be working in FC Twente’s football organization towards the new season. He returns to the club where he began his professional career.
