Noussair Mazraoui has been spotted walking gingerly in the closing stages of Manchester United’s clash with Newcastle United, with TNT Sports’ Darren Fletcher noting he’s ‘not moving freely’.It took only a few moments of the full-back looking visibly in discomfort before Michael Carrick opted to make a change, calling upon the out-of-favour Tyrell Malacia to replace Mazraoui for the final five minutes.DOWNLOAD THE OFFICIAL STRETTY NEWS APP FOR ALL THE LATEST UPDATES & BREAKING NEWS – STRAIGHT TO YOUR PHONE! Ironically, his only other outing in the Premier League also came against the Magpies on Boxing Day.When the Dutch international failed to complete his desired move away in the summer window, it was expected that he would leave in January, even if just on loan. However, nothing materialised, meaning he is now in the final three months of his contract at Old Trafford. As for Mazraoui, he made his first start under Michael Carrick tonight, having replaced Diogo Dalot in the XI for the trip to St. James’ Park.Dalot entered the fray in the 62nd minute as Luke Shaw made way, hence why Malacia was the only like-for-like substitute to call upon in the dying embers of the clash. As well as Mazraoui, who else is injured for United at the moment?(Photo by Justin Setterfield/Getty Images)Should Mazraoui have to oversee a spell on the sidelines, he will join Patrick Dorgu, Matthijs de Ligt, Mason Mount and Lisandro Martinez.United don’t play again for 11 days upon the culmination of matchweek 29 due to FA Cup action this weekend, so the unavailable Reds do have some time to work to full fitness ahead of hosting Aston Villa on Sunday, March 15.
