Neville fires stern Casemiro warning to United, shares verdict on his teammate who’s a “joke” after Villa win

Manchester United legend Gary Neville has issued a warning to the club regarding Casemiro after he delivered another superb performance in the win over Aston Villa. Casemiro shines United consolidated their place in third position with a remarkable 3-1 victory against Villa on Sunday afternoon at Old Trafford. The Red Devils were looking to get back to winning ways after their unbeaten streak was halted by Newcastle last week. Casemiro broke the deadlock in the 53rd minute when he headed home a sublime corner-kick delivery from Bruno Fernandes. But the advantage was wiped out shortly after as Ross Barkley capitalised on some wanting defending to fire past Senne Lammens. But United fought back and piled on the pressure, with Fernandes pulling the strings. The skipper produced a top-class assist to release Matheus Cunha, who applied an equally stunning finish to restore United’s lead. Benjamin Sesko came on from the bench to make it 3-1 and dash whatever hopes Unai Emery’s men may have harboured about mounting a comeback. Casemiro was brilliant in yet another game under Carrick, who was full of praise for the Brazilian in his post-match press conference. Speaking on Sky Sports, Neville was also hugely complimentary of Casemiro as he warned United that they will not find it easy to replace the five-time Champions League winner. Neville also branded Fernandes a “joke” courtesy of his masterclass. Neville speaks on Casemiro Neville said [as quoted by Football365], “I said it in the first half.” “Whilst they might replace him positionally in midfield, he’s going to be very difficult to replace in both boxes because he is sensational getting first contact on headers.” Former United and Villa striker Dion Dublin also shared his thoughts on Casemiro’s goal. Dublin said on BBC Radio 5 Live, “You know what they say: ‘His legs have gone.’” “The knowledge of the footballer, the skill and the way he executes things. It is an incredible header from Casemiro.” “An out-swinging cross which makes the header easier, but to execute that header with such accuracy is just amazing.” Magical Fernandes On Fernandes, Neville remarked, “Bruno Fernandes, his assists and his contributions towards goals are a joke.” “Just watch there. He just runs offside, Mbeumo, but Cunha doesn’t, and the pass from Bruno Fernandes, we are right behind it, so we could see what he was looking at, and it’s a beautiful pass.” “And the finish is special, it really is. We almost think of Thierry Henry with that one.” United return to action on Sunday when they go away to Bournemouth.
