Manchester United beat Manchester City 2-0 at Old Trafford in a dominant victory. Here are our player ratings from the game. (A score of 6 is around average) Senne Lammens 6 – Made an excellent save from a corner he needlessly conceded. Otherwise didn’t have a lot to do. A third clean sheet in United colours. Diogo Dalot 5 – Mixed game. Fortunate to avoid a red card for his challenge on Jeremy Doku. Some careless moments in possession, but he made several positive attacking contributions, surging forward consistently and delivering an excellent cross across the goal early in the second half. Harry Maguire 8 – A rock! Barely put a foot wrong in what was an imperious display. Dominated both aerially and on the ground and kept Erling Haaland quiet. Came close to giving United an early lead with his header but he was denied by the bar. Lisandro Martinez 7 – Delivered the reliable performance we have come to expect of him. Solid next to Maguire and as usual, exceptional in possession. One of his trademark, floated crosses from deep nearly resulted in an assist. Luke Shaw 6.5 – Did well against Antoine Semenyo, especially considering he played most of the game on a yellow card. An assured performance at full-back. Casemiro 7 – Controlling presence in United’s midfield. He was excellent in protecting the defence and almost added a goal to his performance, denied only by a sharp save from Donnarumma on his chip. Kobbie Mainoo 6.5 – Tidy and influential in midfield, keeping United’s play flowing. A sublime drop of the shoulder to utterly deceive a pressing Semenyo was the highlight of his performance. Class! Bruno Fernandes 7 – Involved in almost every attack. Scored but his goal was ruled out for a close offside. Registered the assist for Bryan Mbeumo’s goal. Amad 7 – Dangerous all game, troubling his man and especially Nico O’Reilly in the second half. Forced Donnarumma into a save when he expertly cut in and tried to fire into the back of the net. Hit the post in the dying embers of proceedings. An excellent outing on his return to the team. Patrick Dorgu 9 – Brilliant movement to get ahead of Rico Lewis and fire home to double United’s advantage. Sensational on the left and showed good energy. Bryan Mbeumo 9 – Took his goal extremely well to finally break the deadlock and put the Red Devils in the driving seat. He should have had two but an earlier attempt was saved by Donnarumma. Like Amad, he was sorely missed while away with Cameroon for AFCON. Substitutes Matheus Cunha 7 – Impactful. Did very well to get past his man and put the ball on a plate for Dorgu, extending United’s advantage. Manuel Ugarte 5 – Helped the Red Devils get over the line. Mason Mount 6 – Scored with his very first contribution to make it 3-0 for United but it was ruled out for offside. Ayden Heaven 5 – Same as Ugarte. featured image Carl Recine via Getty Images The Peoples Person has been one of the world’s leading Man United news sites for over a decade.
