“Matheus Cunha gushing with pride over United move with brilliant post on social media”

Manchester United have confirmed the signing of Brazilian forward Matheus Cunha, and the 26 year old wasted no time marking the moment with a personal and emotional message on social media.

Taking to Instagram just under an hour after the announcement, Cunha posted a picture to his story showing a signed Polaroid of himself smiling in a United shirt.

Accompanying the image, he wrote: “It’s all about you following your dreams!”

Cunha expanded on the significance of the move, revealing that joining United fulfils a lifelong ambition.

“It is hard to put into words my feelings about becoming a Manchester United player,” he said. “Ever since I was a child in Brazil watching Premier League games on TV at my grandmother’s house, United was my favourite English team and I dreamed of wearing the red shirt.”

The transfer has been in the works for several weeks, with United keen to bolster their attacking options ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

United’s director of football, Jason Wilcox, underlined the club’s excitement at securing the deal:

“Bringing in Matheus was one of our main priorities for this summer, so we are delighted to have completed his signing so early in the window.”

Cunha, who impressed at Molineux last season with his flair and versatility across the front line, has been identified as a player capable of injecting creativity and movement into Ruben Amorim’s side.

United’s new man netted 15 goals and provided six assists in the Premier League last term, despite Wolves finishing in the bottom half of the table.

His ability to drop deep, link play and drive at defenders offers a different dynamic to what United currently have in their forward department.

The signing also marks United’s first major attacking acquisition of the window, with further moves expected in the coming weeks as the club looks to address key areas across the pitch.
