Manchester United have been run almost like a circus in recent years.
While that might not be the intention, the way some decisions have been made and some transfer fees that have been paid has defied common sense.
Ruben Amorim is the latest man tasked with resurrecting the situation at the English club and he has been making his own set of signings this summer.
The Portuguese tactician has brought in the likes of Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha so far.
One player the club have been linked with quite extensively for the midfield position is Valencia star Javi Guerra.
Now, as per MARCA, Manchester United are willing to go as high as £21.8m to secure the Spaniard’s signature this summer.
Guerra is regarded as one of the most talented midfielders going around in La Liga.
He has been a star performer for a struggling Valencia side in recent seasons and would want to leave the train wreck and continue his career elsewhere.
The 22-year-old was mentioned to be valued at around £26m by the Spanish club this summer. Man Utd are slightly short of the valuation at the moment but the gap isn’t enormous and not something that cannot be bridged.
Ultimately, one thing that the Red Devils have to realise is that they need to pay to get quality in today’s market and Javi Guerra definitely guarantees that.
He maybe quite young but his talent could come of massive help to the English club.
Man Utd’s current midfield is solid but not dynamic enough. There are too many similar profiles and very few technical players to support Bruno Fernandes. Javi Guerra currently is a bit of all those profiles and can be molded in any direction.
It must also be said that you cannot really go wrong with a highly-rated Spanish midfielder.
Their technical quality is a notch above many other countries and let’s wait and see if the Red Devils pay his asking price and sign Javi Guerra.
