Man Utd Handed Major Boost As Update On Yan Diomande Transfer “Agreement” Is Issued

BACK David Tully Feb 24th 2026 Liverpool and Man Utd transfer target Yan Diomande do not have a “personal agreement” in place regarding a potential switch to Anfield this summer, according to reports. An X account Bayern Space had claimed there were rumours that suggested the Merseyside club were heavy favourites for the teenager’s signature, but a source speaking to TEAMtalk has refuted those claims: “As it stands, nothing is agreed. The only thing we currently know is that Yan is determined to help Leipzig finish in the top four before then focusing on the World Cup with Ivory Coast.” “There is no denying the interest; nobody has. But let’s see how the coming months pan out.” Diomande has plenty of suitors The Red Devils and Liverpool are by no means the only clubs interested in snapping up the Ivorian international. Chelsea, Arsenal and Newcastle have also been sending scouts to watch the winger. On the continent, the likes of Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid and Barcelona have been mentioned as potential suitors for Diomande too. Man Utd will have to pay a substantial fee for the player Leipzig have slapped a valuation of around €100m (£87m) on Diomande, but as already pointed out, a lot depends on whether the club finishes in the Champions League places. The Bundesliga side are currently sitting in 5th place, two points behind Stuttgart in the final UCL spot, and if they end up falling short in their battle for a top-four position, they may have to lower their price tag for Diomande. Of course, even then, there could be plenty of competition, which could end up increasing the price, but securing the approval of the player will be the most important thing, and for now, it doesn’t appear as if the youngster has a preference, despite claims to the contrary.
