Man Utd fans are in utter disbelief at what Erik ten Hag said after Burnley draw, he can’t be serious

Manchester United draw against Burnley in the Premier League after what was a boring 1-1 encounter.

It was the unlikely source of Antony who got the goal to put Manchester United in the lead at Old Trafford. That was his first strike in the Premier League this season.

Vincent Kompany’s side levelled things just three minutes before the 90. Andre Onana‘s clumsiness meant the Clarets were awarded a penalty, that Zeki Amdouni finished with aplomb.

It was, again, a rather lacklustre display from the Manchester United first-team squad, which is why Red Devils fans are in utter disbelief as to what Erik ten Hag said after the fixture.

Speaking post-match with BBC Match of the Day, Ten Hag gave a statement after what was a dismal performance which has caused more than a few stirs on the internet. He said:

“We’re one of the most dynamic and entertaining teams in the league at this moment. We’re creating loads of chances by playing good football.”

Considering the current run Manchester United are on, this is a wild statement. The Red Devils have one win in seven since the famous 4-3 FA Cup victory over Liverpool.

Fans have put up with a lot, and this quote from Ten Hag has sent a few over the edge.

Manchester United fans in utter shock

Fans flooded the comments on X in utter disbelief as to what the Manchester United manager has said.

One began: ‘Defended him over everything, but this is hard to defend. Was falling asleep watching that game. Bar the first 25 mins we were rigid.’

Another said: ‘NAHHHHHHHH. He’s lost the plot. He thinks we play good football????’

A third puts: ‘What does bro watch, bc yes we create chances but no we do not play good football In fact it has to be one of the worst in the prem.’

A fourth adds: ‘What the hell, it’s getting harder and harder to back him.’

Another puts it bluntly: ‘Thought it was a fake quote, I’m speechless.’

A final adds: ‘He’s more delusional than me lmao’

Manchester United fans are not happy, and for good reason. You simply can’t be making statements like this without the results to back it up. The proof is in the pudding.

Manchester United now face a tough trip to Selhurst Park as they take on Crystal Palace on the bank holiday Monday. A ‘entertaining’ performance is a must.
