Manchester United have spent a lot of money to make additions to the squad this summer in the hope of reinforcing their faltering attack. One of the team’s biggest issues last season was their failure to score regular goals.
The club brought in the likes of Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko for a lot of money but they do not seem to have solved the persisting issue, at least based on the evidence of the first few games of the season.

The report mentions that the Red Devils are keen on signing their former academy player who spent 13 years at Old Trafford before moving to Arsenal in 2014.
Man Utd have already agreed personal terms with the player over a potential return.
Although Welbeck hasn’t lived up to the lofty heights envisioned in the early days of his career, he has managed to carve a decent stint at different English clubs. He has been particularly impressive for Brighton in recent seasons.
However, at 34, he is no spring chicken and has had his share of injury troubles throughout his career.
In fact, that is one of the reasons he has not been able to have a more prolific career, with continuity always being a question.
Man Utd’s hierarchy are said to have identified the £60,000 a week player as a low-cost option. However, it makes no sense to go for an ageing Welbeck, having just spent all that money to sign Sesko.
It would be interesting to see if Christopher Vivell & co. actually go all out and pursue this deal to bring the Englishman back to Old Trafford.
