Man Utd agree terms of the deal to secure £38.8million player exit – What’s left?

Rasmus Hojlund - Denmark

Manchester United recently announced the blockbuster signing of Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig. The Slovenian striker has been brought in as a marquee addition to the Red Devils.

The Red Devils had been after a new striker for almost throughout the summer. It was clear that Ruben Amorim did not place much faith in Rasmus Hojlund after his inconsistent performances over the last couple of seasons.

Having brought in the 22-year-old striker from the Bundesliga club, it has emerged in recent days that the English club are willing to let go of Hojlund on a loan deal.

Now, as per La Gazzetta dello Sport, Manchester United have agreed terms with Serie A giants AC Milan to secure the exit of the young Danish striker.

However, there are still some negotiations that need to be done over a potential loan deal. The Italian side want to bring the loan fee to around €4-5 million and not more than that.

Milan are also keen on the buy-option being below €40m but Man Utd want it to be at least €45m (£38.8million) if not €50m. This is another bridge that the two clubs need to cross.

However, the biggest obstacle holding up the deal is Hojlund’s desire to stay at Man Utd. The play is adamant about staying at Old Trafford despite the arrival of Sesko.

Ultimately, if it comes to Hojlund’s desire and if he makes the decision to stay only in England, there is nothing that Man Utd or AC Milan can do.

The upcoming week could prove to be definitive in this transfer happening.

Milan will continue to push to try and sign the Dane this summer but should they fail to, they would shift their focus to other transfer targets. Let’s wait and see what the future holds for Hojlund in a Man Utd jersey.
