BACK Dylan Oakley Feb 25th 2026 Man United have been urged by one of their former players to sign a Tottenham player in the summer. The Red Devils come off a 1-0 win against Everton, which left them fourth in the Premier League table, and on course to qualify for the Champions League under interim boss Michael Carrick. It is not yet clear whether Carrick will take the job permanently, but he is certainly giving a great job interview, unbeaten in his first six games, and winning five of them. Harry Maguire has emerged as a key player under Carrick, as he has reclaimed his regular starting XI spot for United. However, the 32-year-old’s contract is due to expire at the end of the season, so United will need to think about his replacement. Man United urged to sign Micky Van de Ven Man United have been linked to Tottenham defender Micky Van de Ven, who has attracted the attention of United, alongside both Liverpool and Real Madrid. The Dutchman is said to be one of the quickest players in the Premier League, and has been a bright-spark for a poor Tottenham side. Former United striker Louis Saha has said that despite United’s defence being solid under Carrick, the Red Devils should look to sign Van de Ven from Tottenham in the summer. Saha told Aceodds.com: “Overall, the defence, the way we play, the kind of stability that we have managed to get in a few games, has given me confidence. “I do think it’s a moment where you look at the squad and feel confident that the defence and midfield are okay. Definitely in the summer, you can find Van de Ven who is a very attractive target.” It is understood that Tottenham have slapped a £100m price tag on the 24-year-old, although seeing as they are battling relegation, he could either demand to leave, or even see a massive value drop, should Spurs suffer relegation to the Championship.
