Manchester United should make a move for Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez to replace Casemiro, according to former Premier League striker Emile Heskey.

United are on the lookout for more midfield reinforcements before the end of the transfer window, with Fernandez identified as someone who could make a difference at Old Trafford.

Norwich City sporting director Ben Knapper has said that he expects the club to sign a left-back in the next 24 for 48 hours, amid links to United’s Harry Amass.

The full-back is one of four young players reportedly told he can leave the club this summer. He spent the second half of last season on loan with the Canaries.

Speaking to BBC Radio Norfolk, Knapper said: “We are very, very close. I would like to think that within the next 24-48 hours, we’ll have something to tell you about.

“Lots of work going on. We’re not quite there yet but we’re honing in.”

Could the mystery player be Amass?

The i paper reports that Man United know a deal for Hall will be extremely difficult and have already lined up alternatives.

Arsenal prospect Myles Lewis‑Skelly is one player they’ve assessed, while in Spain, AS claim United have also identified Racing Santander defender Jorge Salinas as an option – though Barcelona are in the mix as well.

It might only be pre-season, but Bryan Mbeumo’s performance for Man United against Atletico Madrid in Stockholm continued a trend from the second half of last season.

Since Michael Carrick’s arrival in January and United’s switch to a more stable 4-2-3-1 system, Mbeumo has either played as a centre-forward or a right-winger.

The former Brentford man was often used as one of two No.10s by Ruben Amorim following his £71million switch from the Bees, but that position was put in cold storage when the Portuguese head coach was sacked and Mbeumo’s role changed.

He is comfortable on the right and of his 242 games for Brentford, 161 came on the wing, allowing him to cut in on to his stronger left foot. He reprised that position for Carrick in the second half of last season.

Kim Min‑jae has signalled he wants to remain at Bayern Munich beyond this summer, making his intention to stay at the club clear.

“As a player, just to be with a team like Bayern Munich is a blessing,” Kim said at a press conference on Monday, according to South Korean news agency Yonhap.

“Last season, I thought I played a lot of matches. I am competing as the third defender (behind Upamecano and Tah), and I know I have no choice but to work hard.

“I think the coach will give me a lot of opportunities, and I think I will stay put.”

Kim Min-jae has closed the door on a move away from Bayern Munich. The defender has been linked with a move to United this summer but his recent comments seem to have put paid to talk of any exit from the German champions.

“As a player, just to be with a team like Bayern Munich is a blessing,” he said. ““I think the coach will give me a lot of opportunities, and I think I will stay put.”

A reporters for the German newspaper BILD has dismissed talk of a Newcastle United move for midfielder Angelo Stiller.

Stiller has been heavily linked with a move to Man United, but Felix Arnold has spoken on social media of how ‘there is no truth to the rumors about a possible move of Angelo Stiller to Newcastle United’.

Still was tipped to make a move to the Reds last summer but remained at Stuttgart, who are reportedly planning on keeping hold of him for the long-term.

Although United were understood to be exploring talks over a potential move, Hall is ‘unequivocally not for sale’ and has been earmarked for a key role in new head coach Matthias Jaissle’s plans.

With that said, the player would be open to a move to Old Trafford.

Man United are continuing to be linked with signing a new left-back this summer, with Lewis Hall one of two players identified as targets by the Reds.

A report in Spanish news outlet Sporthas claimed that United have identified an alternative option to Hall should they fail to sign the Newcastle left-back. It has been reported that Racing Santander defender Jorge Salinas is now a target for United, but that the Reds will have to face competition from Barcelona for his signature.

The report claims that Salinas has been listed as a ‘Plan B’ for United should they not be able to bring Hall to Old Trafford. It has also been claimed that United would be willing to pay the €16million (£13.7million) release clause in Salinas’ contract with Racing Santander, something which Barcelona are understood not to be prepared to do.

Fenerbahce are ‘ready to break the bank’ to sign Marcus Rashford, according to The Sun.

The England forward is reportedly on a three‑man shortlist that also features AC Milan winger Rafael Leão and Crystal Palace’s Ismaila Sarr. The Turkish giants have reportedly already held talks with Leao but have been unable to strike a deal, while they have contacted Sarr’s camp.

Rashford’s representatives have likewise been approached over a potential move.

Benjamin Sesko is reportedly attracting interest from Bayern Munich this summer.

Sport Bild reporter Christian Falk has claimed that Bayern Munich are now starting plans for life after Harry Kane eventually leaves the club – with Sekso on their shortlist.

Falk has told CFBayern Insider that Bayern are looking to sign a striker who could fulfil a role when Kane has to have a deeper role, with the Bundesliga giants already signing Ismael Saibari from PSV Eindhoven.

It has been reported that Bayern are still admirers of Sesko, having previously expressed an interest in the 23-year-old during his time with Leipzig two years ago.

Reports in Spain claim Man United are close to reaching an agreement with Celta Vigo for Bayindir.

Celta are said to be aiming to wrap up a loan move for the goalkeeper in the coming days, with the Spanish side keen for him to challenge Andrei Radu for the No.1 spot next season.

Meanwhile, Spanish newspaper AS reports there is little chance United will receive a fee from Celta, and Bayindir would also need to take a wage cut to make a permanent move.

Louis Saha has thrown Mason Mount’s Old Trafford future into doubt by claiming that the Red Devils need to replace the England international this summer.

Since joining United in 2023, Mount has featured in 54 Premier League games out of a possible 114 due to various injuries.

And Saha, speaking via LiveFootballTickets, said: “Man United need to focus on signing four or five quality players before the end of the transfer window this summer.

“Priority number one is replacing Casemiro with someone who can slot straight into the team with ease, playing two games a week all season long.“We also need someone who can fill the position of Mason Mount. I’m talking about a dynamic midfielder who can go box to box and score goals.“Unfortunately, for Mason, he is a terrific player, but we have never seen it at United, so I’d expect him to play a minimal role next season if he remains at the club.“We need someone who can help Bruno Fernandes create chances and take some of the pressure off him.”

Everton are reportedly preparing a transfer approach for United striker Ethan Wheatley. However, it is understood that nothing is advanced at this stage.

The 20-year-old ended last season on loan at League One side Bradford City after spending the first half of the campaign with Northampton Town. The Red Devils youngster made 12 appearances for the Bantams in 2025/26 as he sought more senior first-team football.

However, he failed to score for the West Yorkshire club and did not feature in either of their League One play-off semi-final fixtures with Bolton Wanderers. It came after Wheatley became United’s 250th academy graduate to feature for the first team, making his debut in a 4-2 win over Sheffield United in April 2024.

Reports from Italy suggest Joshua Zirkzee has accepted a loan switch to Juventus without any obligation to purchase. The Dutch striker doesn’t seem to feature in Carrick’s first-team thinking.

United signed Zirkzee for £36m in 2024 and he became the inaugural signing under INEOS ownership. He previously featured in Italy with Bologna. It is understood that Zirkzee has proven challenging to sell and, having failed to establish himself at United, is much more likely to depart on loan, either with or without a purchase option.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Zirkzee has agreed to a deal with Juventus and has already given his ‘yes’ to the Italian club.

United have maintained an interest in English left-back Lewis Hall all summer, but according to the BBC, Michael Carrick’s side view the deal as “very difficult” to pull off. Still, the Reds’ desire to reinforce the position remains no secret.

The Reds have Luke Shaw in that position, and Patrick Dorgu can also play there, but the Dane’s best performances came on the left wing under Carrick last term.

Former Chelsea defender William Gallas believes it is all but inevitable that Cole Palmer will join Manchester United – but only after he’s had ‘one more big season’. Palmer moved to Stamford Bridge from Manchester City in 2023 in a £42.5m deal.

Despite spending 13 years at the Etihad, Palmer is a boyhood United fan. Claims emerged earlier this year that the England international was homesick and the Reds were keen to lure him to Old Trafford.

But Palmer later claimed there is no truth in links to United or that he is homesick in London. However, that hasn’t stopped Gallas from claiming that if Palmer has another impressive campaign at Stamford Bridge, a move to United would likely follow.

Lewis Hall has reportedly turned down the chance to sign for Chelsea amid continued speculation linking him with a move to Manchester United.

That’s according to journalist Simon Phillips, who is reporting that Chelsea tried to make a move for Hall this summer, but he wasn’t keen on a return to Stamford Bridge.

The between United and Hall have grown in recent days following the news that Eddie Howe had left the North East club.

While he may not have won as many trophies as he would have liked at United, Skinner did a lot of good for the women’s team. Their participation in the Champions League for the first time last season was hugely significant and it was clear a lot of the players were galvanised around him. It will be interesting to see who United turn to next.

Manchester United have confirmed that Marc Skinner has departed his role as head coach of the club’s Women side by mutual agreement.

“Appointed in 2021, Marc led United to four domestic cup finals in four seasons, winning the club’s first major honour in women’s football with the 2024 FA Cup.

“During his tenure, United also finished runners-up in the 2022–23 Women’s Super League, securing qualification for the UEFA Women’s Champions League for the first time in the club’s history.

“Last season, the team reached its first League Cup final and the quarter-finals of the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

“Marc leaves having made a significant contribution to the continued progress of Manchester United Women. The club places on record its sincere thanks for his professionalism, commitment and dedication throughout his time at United, and wishes him every success in the future.”

Now we brought you a report from the Independent a little earlier, which claimed that United are investigating whether a deal for Arsenal’s Myles Lewis-Skelly is possible.

Well, the same publication is also reporting that the Reds are also expected to press on with attempting to sign Lewis Hall from Newcastle United.

The MEN reported last week that United could test the waters with a bid, but if a deal is to happen, it is believed Hall will have to make it clear to his employers that he wants the move.

Newcastle, of course, are set to start life under Matthias Jaissle in the coming days following Eddie Howe’s shock departure from the club last week.

Juventus are mulling offering Manchester United a swap deal in order to land Joshua Zirkzee.

Manchester United are reportedly investigating whether a deal for Arsenal’s Myles Lewis-Skelly is possible.

That’s according to the Independent, who are reporting that the Old Trafford hierarchy have long-standing interest in the Lewis-Skelly and are aiming to see whether Arsenal would do business.
