Manchester United target Matheus Cunha has a release clause lower than that reported previously.
The Red Devils have been one of the poorest teams in the league from an attacking standpoint, as they have only found the back of the net 28 times in 24 matches.
United have been linked with numerous attacking players as they aim to solve this massive problem in the team.
Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres and Galatasaray forward Victor Osimhen have both been discussed as potential number nine targets this summer.
Ruben Amorim’s side is not only keen to add a striker but also attacking players who can play in his number ten role and Wolves’ Cunha has been repeatedly linked to a move to Old Trafford. He recently put in an electric performance against United on Boxing Day, scoring directly from a corner in a 2-0 victory for his team.
Despite recently signing a new deal at Molineux, he is still reportedly eager to leave in the summer.
Spanish newspaper AS reports that “Matheus Cunha will be one of the big names next summer.”
The outlet states that “his new release clause is set at just over 70 million euros (60 million pounds), which will take effect from this June and will not change if the team is relegated to the Championship, although it could be negotiated.”
The deal has been described as a “bargain” with both United and Tottenham Hotspur following his progress with interest.
The forward’s new deal until 2029 certainly “does not close the door” to an exit and “his departure is almost inevitable”.
The 25 year old has 12 goals and four assists in 25 matches this season as he has been by far his side’s most potent attacking weapon.
United manager Ruben Amorim is reportedly interested in securing the Brazilian’s services and the interest seems to be mutual as the attacker has claimed that it is “gratifying” to be linked to a club such as the Red Devils in the past.
