Manchester United attacker Matheus Cunha responded to the chastising he and his teammates received after their disappointing display against Wolves.Despite the important absences of Bruno Fernandes, Bryan Mbeumo, Amad Diallo and several others, the home crowd at Old Trafford wasn’t going to settle for anything less than a win on Tuesday. After all, Man Utd were hosting what might well be the worst team in Premier League history, as their tally suggests (three points from 19 fixtures). And yet, Wolves managed to nullify Joshua Zirkzee’s opener by scoring an equaliser through Ladislav Krejci just before half-time, and defending the result until the final whistle. They even came close to snatching a shocking winner if it wasn’t for Senne Lammens’ superb double save.Man Utd fans left irritated by the 1-1 draw vs WolvesNeedless to say, the result and the performance left the OT supporters in a foul mood. A section of the home supporters even cheered Zirkzee’s half-time substitution, while Ruben Amorim’s decision to replace Ayden Heaven with another defender (Leny Yoro) was jeered.(Photo by Jan Kruger/Getty Images)After the final whistle, the Man Utd players expectedly received some abuse from the irritated Stretford End supporters. But while the vast majority of them humbly accepted the roasting, with some even responding with apologetic applause, the fans’ reaction didn’t sit well with Cunha, at least based on a circulating video on social media. pic.twitter.com/7CclIq2YSf — follow UtdXclusive (@utd124) December 31, 2025Matheus Cunha responded to Man Utd supporters at Stretford EndThe video that has been making the rounds on social media shows the Brazilian attacker responding angrily to the supporters who were hurling abuse, thus prompting more insults from the stands. Although Cunha’s words are not audible, his body language says it all.Naturally, the episode won’t earn the 26-year-old any favours with Red Army. Ironically, Cunha was cheered by the home supporters at Old Trafford during this fixture last season, even though he was still a Wolves player. Cunha’s stats Appearances Goals Assists 24/25 (Wolves) 36 17 6 25/26 (Man Utd) 17 3 1 At the time, news reports were already linking the versatile forward with a move to Carrington, and the OT fans encouraged him to join by showing him some early love.Man Utd ended up activating Cunha’s £62.5 million release clause. But while he instantly cemented himself as a regular starter, many would argue that the former Atletico Madrid has yet to fully meet the high expectations, and that he’s been overshadowed by fellow new signing, Mbeumo. The Manchester Evening News identified the Brazil international as one of United’s worst players on Tuesday, handing him a 5/10 rating.
