Man United fans respond with emphatic message over new star striker signing Sesko

Manchester United fans have made their voices heard on whether or not Benjamin Sesko is worth the €76.5m + €8.5m their team paid Red Bull Leipzig this summer.

Tight race won

The Red Devils saw off fierce competition from Premier League rivals Newcastle United to seal the deal for the Slovenian.

Sesko was so keen on a switch to United that he even turned down higher wages available on Tyneside.

Ruben Amorim confirmed today that the giant striker is physically ready to make his debut for the club against Arsenal on Sunday.

The Peoples Person has conducted a poll asking readers if the €76.5m + €8.5m spent on Sesko was money well spent and their response was clear.

United fans delighted

A massive 67% of United fans believe that the new signing will definitely be value for money and think he is a “great signing”.

Man United have chased Sesko for numerous years and have collected a huge amount of scouting reports on the player, so fans will be hopeful they have got this one right.

The 22-year-old is also regularly talked about as being one of the most exciting young forwards in world football, which will only add to fans’ anticipation.

Some fans see Rasmus Hojlund parallels

24% of readers voted that the deal was a “real gamble” and perhaps could be another Hojlund.

This is of course referring to United’s 2023 deal for Hojlund which saw them pay Atalanta £72 million for the Dane’s services.

Unfortunately the deal has not worked out as he has only managed 26 goals in 95 appearances. Clearly, some fans worry that the club have overpaid once again for young talent.

Small minority against transfer

4% of respondents claimed that Sesko was simply not worth the money that United sanctioned the deal for.

While 3% claimed that United should have spent the money on another centre forward, such as Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins.

Finally, another 2% were against the transfer because they believe that United should have spent the money on another position such as goalkeeper or striker, having already signed attackers Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo.

Nonetheless, the majority of fans are certainly in agreement on the Sesko deal and will hope he can open his account this Sunday in front of his new home fans.
