Man United target Karl Etta Eyong could leave Levante for as little as €15m (£13m) next year, according to reports in the Catalan media.

The Cameroon international does have a €30m (£26m) release clause but Sport claim there are “pecularities” in his contract that mean he is available for half that sum.

Etta Eyong has attracted plenty of attention after scoring 5 goals in his first 8 games for Levante after joining the newly-promoted La Liga side from Villarreal in July.

Sport report that the Red Devils are one of the teams who are pressing “hard” to snap up the 21-year-old, but they could end up being disappointed due to the player’s transfer stance.

Etta Eyong wants to stay in Spain

It is believed that the forward has made it clear that he wants to remain in La Liga if he does leave Levante in the future.

Barcelona are regarded as the likeliest destination for Etta Eyong at this stage, and they would be prepared to pay the €15m required at the end of the season.

The Spanish champions are looking at bringing in another striker with Robert Lewandowski nearing the end of his contract at the Camp Nou. There is an option to extend his stay for a further 12 months, but he may not be given as prominent a role next campaign if an additional striker is brought in.

Man United have a decision to make on one of their own forwards

Joshua Zirkzee is reportedly unsettled at Old Trafford. The Dutchman has not started a match in any competition so far this season, and he could seek a departure in January.

The Red Devils would probably only sanction his sale if they can find a replacement, but it seems Etta Eyong is not an option.
