Laurie Whitwell reveals what Rasmus Hojlund is now thinking about his United future amid Benjamin Sesko swap speculation

Rasmus Hojlund faces an uncertain Manchester United future after the club ignited their pursuit of Benjamin Sesko this week.

While it’s entirely possible the Dane stays put at Old Trafford, he’ll be well aware that, if Sesko does indeed sign, his minutes could be slashed throughout 2025/2026 if his form is anything like it was last season.

Additionally, David Ornstein said only a week ago that there’s a ‘very good chance’ Hojlund is moved on in the event a new centre-forward is acquired before the window closes.

However, Hojlund is said to be opposed to the idea.

Laurie Whitwell confirmed this morning that the 22-year-old is ‘giving no instruction’ to his representatives to search for a new club, as he has not been directly instructed by United to do so or told that he’s ‘up for sale’.

This comes after Fabrizio Romano revealed on Wednesday that United have floated the idea with RB Leipzig of including one of their own players in a deal for Sesko, with Hojlund a player that the German outfit are particularly fond of.

Yet, such an agreement could only come to fruition if the former Atalanta man also green-lights it.

Time to cut ties with struggling Hojlund?

Giving up on Hojlund just two years into his Red Devils tenure whilst he’s still so young may seem a harsh approach to some, but there has to come a stage whereby United decide whether he has what it takes to be a prolific frontman in the Premier League.

The fact that he regressed in his sophomore campaign in England is a major concern for INEOS, given that the transfer chiefs before them agreed a ludicrous £72 million package to bring the then-20-year-old to the club before awarding him a five-year deal.
