Landmark appearance for MaguireMonday 27 April 2026 19:42Harry Maguire has racked up his 600th career appearance, with the Manchester United defender eyeing up a return to UEFA Champions League football with the Reds next season. Fresh from signing a new deal at Old Trafford earlier this month, the England international returned from his two-game ban against Brentford. He has been named in the first XI in every game he’s been available for under Michael Carrick.Fans of academy football may remember Maguire captaining the Sheffield United side in the FA Youth Cup final against the Reds back in 2011, where he featured against future team-mate Paul Pogba in a 4-1 win for United (6-3 on aggregate). After breaking into the first team with the Blades during their spell in League One, Maguire made the step up to the Premier League with Hull City, making his top-flight debut in the 2014/15 campaign. The centre-back then enjoyed a loan spell in the Championship with Wigan Athletic before becoming a Premier League mainstay, first back with Hull and then with Leicester City. Maguire established himself as one of the best in the country with the Foxes, which saw him make the move to Manchester in 2019, and the 33-year-old has been an excellent signing for United. Of his 600 career club appearances, 266 of those have come in a Reds shirt, and he’s notched 17 goals in that time, including the memorable headers against Lyon and Liverpool. Congratulations, Harry!Recommended:Behind the scenes: Rooney and Bruno VideoBehind the scenes: Rooney and BrunoTake a look at behind-the-scenes footage from Wayne Rooney and Bruno Fernandes’s podcast at Carrington this week…Monday 27 April 2026 19:42Back to Top
