Manchester United are desperate to move players on this window so that INEOS can go out there and bring in reinforcements for Ruben Amorim with the club languishing in 13th position in the Premier League table.
However, it has been far from easy due to the asking prices involved and the huge salaries the underperforming players are on at United.
A prime example is Antony, who has started only twice under the new head coach, but none of those have come in the Premier League. And in both those starts, the €95 million signing has not lasted for more than 60 minutes.
The Brazilian has been tried as a No 10 and at wingback but it has been clear for sometime now that the former Ajax star is just not up to the standards required at Old Trafford as reflected from his market value which currently stands at €20 million.
Antony being eyed by multiple clubs
Off-field controversies have certainly not helped matters but INEOS are open to moving him on with The Peoples Person recently relaying that Real Betis were eyeing a loan deal.
Surprisingly, Olympiacos were also in the race but as relayed by Sport Witness, the 24-year-old winger prefers a move to Spain to regain his lost level and has therefore rejected an approach from the Greek giants.
The Andalusian club are prepared to push for this deal ‘until the end’ with Antony ‘awaiting news’ from the club and his agent about his future.
As part of the deal, the Red Devils will have to cover a portion of his humongous £200,000 per week wages. Currently, the highest earner at Betis is Isco, who earns €120,192 per week (all numbers via capology).
The Spanish club are trying to woo the United star by showing Manuel Pellegrini’s track record with improving the fortunes of former high-profile names such as Isco, Ayoze Perez and Giovani Lo Celso.

Interestingly, ABC Sevilla, who the outlet have quoted, have also suggested the possibility of a longer loan spell than the currently being worked upon formula of six months.
That long-term plan would include ‘the possibility of joint future benefit for the two entities in the event of the recovery of the value of the player’, the details of which are not mentioned.
It hints towards Betis possibly earning a share should United decide to sell the Brazil international after he has sparked back to life during his time at the Estadio Benito Villamarín.
Real Betis have been in touch with Antony’s agents for three weeks now, trying to seduce the player and and it will be interesting to see where Antony eventually ends up.
