Kone closing on Under-21s returnMonday 03 November 2025 13:30Sekou Kone is expected to return to action with Manchester United Under-21s before November is out.The midfielder suffered an injury during the National League Cup tie at Tamworth in August that resulted in the tie being abandoned. It has been rearranged for Tuesday 16 December. The Reds have a game in the competition on Tuesday 25 November, at Solihull Moors, which is live on MUTV.When asked by journalists for an update on Kone’s situation, Under-21s coach Travis Binnion replied: “After the international break, we think he will be ready to play, which will be good. “He has not been able to do contact, which limits the work we can do, but he is back in full training now and we will get a body of training back into him, with contact.”The Malian has been missed in the engine room but he may be available for two high-profile games at Old Trafford during December, when Anderlect and Borussia Dortmund come to town for Premier League International Cup fixtures. Fans are encouraged to attend those games on Tuesday 2 and Friday 19 December, to cheer the youngsters on under the lights at the Theatre of Dreams.Recommended:Monday 03 November 2025 13:30Back to Top
