Kayla Rendell has joined Manchester United after signing a contract until 30 June 2027, with an option of an additional year.

The 23-year-old goalkeeper joins from Southampton, where she has made 134 first-team appearances since her debut in 2018 after coming through the Saints Academy.

Kayla was called-up to the England senior squad for the first time last April, having represented her country at every age group from Under-17s to Under-23s.

Welcome to United, Kayla!

Kayla Rendell said: “It’s a dream to be signing for Manchester United and I can’t wait to join the group and get started.

“I want to thank Southampton for all the support and opportunities they have given me since joining as a nine-year-old girl. I will always cherish so many fantastic memories of my time there. Now I’m ready to take the next step in my career and play my part in pushing for success at United.”

Matt Johnson, interim head of women’s football, said: “Kayla is one of the most promising young goalkeepers in the women’s game and we have been tracking her progress with Southampton and England.

“She will add further strength to our pool of goalkeepers as we continue to build a talented, young squad with the potential to grow and develop together.”
