Serie A club Juventus are reportedly interested in signing Man United striker Joshua Zirkzee.
Man United are preparing for the first Manchester derby of the new season as they make the short trip to the Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon, hoping to stay above rivals City in the Premier League table.
It could be the first time we see striker Benjamin Sesko start in the Premier League, as Matheus Cunha has been ruled out of the game on Sunday due to an injury he suffered in United’s 3-2 win against Burnley before the international break.
However, Sesko’s lack of top-level experience is a concern for the Red Devils, and they may look to bring in an older striker to help Sesko in the January transfer window if his early struggles continue. A potential swap deal has now emerged with Juventus reportedly keen on a United striker.
Man United could swap Zirkzee for Vlahovic
According to reports in Italy, Juventus are keen to sign Joshua Zirkzee from Man United in January. Reported by Tuttosport, the Old Lady views Zirkzee as a potential option to replace Dusan Vlahovic, who they want to sell in January to get his wages off their books.
If they do decide to go after Zirkzee, it could be more valuable for Man United to ask for a swap for Vlahovic rather than simply a transfer, which would be beneficial for them as they would get an experienced striker.
It would likely be something Juventus would want to do, as they want to get rid of Vlahovic, despite his impressive goal scoring record. The Serbian international has scored two goals in two Serie A games this season, on top of a year where he netted 10 goals in 29 games.
Aged 25, Vlahovic has a lot more experience both in a top European league, but also in the Champions League, he could be United’s other option alongside Sesko, as a proven goal scorer. Furthermore, his record is much better than Zirkzee’s too, so it could be a deal which would see United win in terms of overall value.
