Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford could see his move to FC Barcelona still go through as Ansu Fati has an offer from Besiktas.
The England international has been out of the first team since before Christmas and according to recent comments by Ruben Amorim, he is no closer to a recall.
What’s more, the two are believed to not be on speaking terms, so a move away from Old Trafford certainly appears to be the attacker’s best option.
Numerous clubs have shown interest in Rashford this window but it is thought that his major preference would be a move to Barcelona this winter, as he is prepared to lower his wages to see a deal go through.
The problem for the Catalan giants is that they do not currently have the wage space as they have been unable to offload Eric Garcia or Ansu Fati to free up room in their squad for Rashford.
Turkish outlet Fanatik report that this may soon change however, as former Man United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Besiktas are interested in signing Fati.
The Spaniard has found gametime very hard to come by under Hansi Flick and has omitted from the squad six times out of the last 10 matches.
“The Black Eagles have set their sights on Barcelona, one of the most important clubs in world football, for a left wing transfer! Beşiktaş’s target name is young star Ansu Fati.”
“Barcelona is considering sending the 22-year-old player, whose contract will end in June 2027, back on loan”, after spending last season on loan to Brighton and Hove Albion in the Premier League.
Solskjaer’s side also face competition from Fenerbahce, who might do a deal for the young Spaniard and could see the Norwegian go up against another former United boss, Jose Mourinho.
“It was reported that the Black-Whites are working to loan the successful footballer with a purchase option.”
Fati’s departure, alongside Unai Hernandez’s sale to Saudi Arabia, would almost certainly free up the space for Barcelona to make a last-gasp attempt to sign Rashford with just six days of the window remaining.
