Jadon Sancho on the radar of Uniteds arch-rivals

Manchester United have signed quite a few duds over the years, but Jadon Sancho arguably takes the cake among the club’s signings since the Sir Alex Ferguson era.

The Red Devils spent £73 million to land the Englishman in 2021, and fans were overjoyed, believing he would fix the team’s right-wing problems.

Unfortunately, he played only 25 per cent of his games on the right, preferring to play on the left, a position United were already well-stocked in.

Then came his attitude issues as outlined by former boss Erik ten Hag. It came to a point that the club was forced to loan him out back in early 2024.

Jadon Sancho: what a fall from grace

And since then, the England international has spent most of his time away on loan, first to Chelsea, and then to Aston Villa.

In fact, Chelsea were obligated to buy him, but they refused and even agreed to pay a penalty to INEOS to escape the arrangement. That just goes to show how low his stock fell.

The player can blame United all he wants, but the simple truth is his mentality was not up to the standards required at a club of United’s stature.

However, he remains in demand, owing to his free agency status, with Tottenham Hotspur the latest to join the fray.

Spurs have him on their list of targets

TEAMtalk have revealed that Spurs have the 26-year-old on their list of alternative targets should they
fail to persuade Savinho to join them this summer.

“Tottenham Hotspur have told Manchester City they want a final answer on Savinho before the weekend or they will walk away from the deal and move on to alternative targets, TEAMtalk understands.

“Spurs are determined not to allow one deal to hold up the rest of their summer business and have already identified alternative targets should City fail to give the green light.

“Indeed, we can reveal that the likes of Antonio Nusa, Cody Gakpo, Rafael Leao and Jadon Sancho have all been assessed by transfer chiefs.”

Jadon Sancho remains no closer to a new club

As is the case with Jadon Sancho nowadays, he is far down on the list of targets, so a move is clearly not close.

Not to mention Roberto de Zerbi might not fancy a player with so much excess baggage and with a tendency not to work hard enough on the pitch.

This explains why the Middle-East might be a realistic option for Jadon Sancho, unless some European club decided to take a punt on him.

The Peoples Person Reliability AssessmentOverall credibility: 7/10Why?

✅ Reported by a source with a strong Manchester United track record.✅ Sancho is a free agent and PL-proven, so it makes sense for multiple clubs to be tracking him:warning:De Zerbi hates lazy players, so Sancho being one of the alternatives is doubtful.

TPP viewWe believe Spurs do have Sancho on their list, but he is likely to be way down the pecking order of alternative targets.
