Manchester United are back in Old Trafford action on Wednesday evening, as we host Ipswich Town in the Premier League (19:30 GMT kick-off).

The Reds will be looking to end February in a positive manner, following the late fightback at Everton on Saturday, which saw us recover from two goals down to draw 2-2.

Kieran McKenna’s men need to pick up points to try and reduce the gap to the sides above them in the table and the Tractor Boys gave us a good game in November’s reverse fixture – a 1-1 draw in Ruben Amorim’s first match in charge.

Here’s what you need to know before Wednesday’s encounter…

HOW TO WATCH AND FOLLOW

Wednesday’s 19:30 GMT start will be broadcast live on TNT Sports, for viewers in the UK. As usual, we’ll have pre-match and post-match coverage on MUTV, and our ‘Match Day Live’ programme gets under way at 18:25 GMT.

We’ll have coverage of the team news and expert analysis from pitchside, with David May and Danny Webber, plus interviews with Ruben Amorim and his players.

The United App is the place to be during the game, as we’ll bring you live radio commentary, plus stats and updates.

If you can’t join us live, check back into the platforms from two hours after the final whistle for short highlights, and midnight for a full match replay.

TEAM NEWS

Manuel Ugarte and Leny Yoro were able to return at the weekend after one-game absences, and it was an afternoon to remember for the Uruguayan, as he scored his first goal for United at Goodison.

Christian Eriksen was an unused substitute following illness and before the game Amorim said Toby Collyer is close to a return.

Four players – Altay Bayindir, Tom Heaton, Mason Mount and Luke Shaw – are working on their recovery but Amad, Kobbie Mainoo and Lisandro Martinez are longer-term absentees.

Axel Tuanzebe, the former Red, is available again after serving a one-match suspension but McKenna is awaiting news on midfield pair Jens Cajuste and Kalvin Phillips as they were taken off with ankle and calf complaints respectively, during the 4-1 home defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.

Wes Burns, Conor Chaplin, Julio Enciso, Chiedozie Ogbene and Christian Walton are all set to be missing for the East Anglians.

FORM GUIDE

While the draw at Everton prevented the Reds losing three league games in a row for the second time under Amorim, our home form still requires improvement, with Southampton the only team we’ve beaten at Old Trafford in the top-flight so far in 2025.

The Saints are the only team in the division with fewer wins than Ipswich’s three, although the Tractor Boys have taken a couple of notable scalps, winning at Spurs in November and beating Chelsea at Portman Road just before the turn of the year.

McKenna’s men have taken just one point from their last six outings though, a run which includes a 6-0 thrashing by Manchester City and 4-1 reverses to Liverpool and Spurs.

DID YOU KNOW?

United are unbeaten in our last seven home league games against Ipswich, winning each of the last three by an aggregate score of 15-0.

The Tractor Boys’ most recent away league win against Manchester United was in May 1984 – the last occasion we lost a home league game after leading at half-time. We’re unbeaten in 388 such games since then (W355 D33).

We are unbeaten in our last 21 Premier League games against newly promoted opposition, since a 4-1 loss at Watford in November 2021.

We haven’t lost a Premier League game at Old Trafford on a Wednesday since January 2021 (1-2 v Sheffield United), winning five of the six games since then, including each of the last four.

Thanks to Opta.
