INEOS set to “block” in-demand United star from joining PL rivals – report

Marcus Rashford has been linked with numerous clubs all over the world but Manchester United are looking to make sure he does not move to a direct domestic rival.

Ever since the Mancunian’s fateful interview about him being ready for a new adventure, headlines have all been about where his future lies.

There has been plenty of interest from within the Premier League with likes of West Ham United, Tottenham Hotspur
and Chelsea all monitoring proceedings.

While the Red Devils would prefer a permanent solution, they are unlikely to earn a sizeable fee now as compared to the summer. That is why a loan exit is on the cards with the club having to subsidise his wages.

Rashford’s route to a direct domestic rival blocked

But according to The Daily Star, INEOS have made it clear that they would prefer to complete a deal with a foreign club which is why AC Milan are currently leading the race.

“Manchester United bosses want to block Marcus Rashford from joining another English rival. A host of clubs have shown interest in signing the 27-year-old on-loan for the remainder of the season. These include the likes of Tottenham, West Ham and Chelsea.

“With United facing the prospect of having to fund a significant chunk of Rashford’s £350,000-a-week wages, Ratcliffe is not prepared to do this and risk seeing one of his own players damage United’s chances of securing European qualification this season.”

MLS and Saudi Pro League sides were ready to offer big wages but the England international has no intention of leaving Europe currently.

AC Milan in pole position

He would prefer a move to La Liga with Barcelona seen as his dream destination but whether the Catalan giants can fund a move now and include an option to buy later remains to be seen, which has handed the Rossoneri pole position.

Fans will be disappointed to see the Carrington graduate leave but inconsistency has plagued his entire United career and Ruben Amorim seems to be the coach who has seen enough.

Despite scoring three times under him, Amorim took the the bold call to drop him from the Manchester derby squad and the Englishman has not seen a minute of action since.

There have been murmurs from the past about his attitude and Amorim finally decided to take action with INEOS backing the coach while the potential to earn pure profit from his sale will also be seen as a boost.
